Your Week in Football
Today's newsletter is suffering from a slightly sore head after celebrating the finest season of domestic action ever at the A-League awards last night.
It was great to see the stars of the W-League receive their accolades at last night's awards, but the big one as ever was the Johnny Warren Medal. Preannouncement chatter centred on one area - are you backing either Brisbane's Thomas Broich or Matt McKay, or will Adelaide's Argentine superstar Marcos Flores take the honours?
It proved to be the latter, as the affable star received 618 votes from his playing peers to win the award. Well done Marcos for winning on a night that was largely dominated elsewhere by Brisbane Roar for obvious reasons.
Someone hoping Brisbane won't be as dominate next weekend is Central Coast, who sealed their place in the A-League Grand Final by edging past Gold Coast. That has set-up the dream final with the league's two best sides battling it out for this season's top honours on Sunday.
We understand ticket sales for the Grand Final are going well, with approaching 40,000 shifted - including the most expensive seats! So snap up those final tickets and make this Grand Final one to remember.
