FROM THE DUGOUT WITH ERIN IRELAND
City played another tough and physical game this week, this time against County. County is well known for playing the offside rule very well. This week was no different. County frustrated City forwards by catching them offside again and again but City concentrated hard and found a way around County's trap. Lauren scored an excellent goal from a penalty in the second half. County tried to attack forward but City's sweeper and goalie weren't going to let County get a goal. Next week City will be playing a tough, fast paced game against Wanderers which should be very good to watch.
End score round 4:City: 4County: 0

FROM THE DUGOUT WITH ERIN IRELAND
In round two City travelled to Portland. City was missing a fair few senior players but they were able to score a goal in the first half of the game by players putting their body on the line and a great through ball past Portland defenders. Portland played a great game but didn't get the ball into their attacking half much with Kahlie and Lauren in the back line. Kristy played awesome in the midfield creating opportunities for City to run for goal.
End score: City- 1 (Jen Smith)Portland- 0

FROM THE DUGOUT WITH ERIN IRELAND
This Saturday is the first round of the season for SEWFA. After last weeks carnival all teams seem keen for the season to start.
Millicent should feel confident against County this week having gone through the carnival undefeated until the final against City. Although, Millicent should keep a look out because County are very good at catching their opponents offside.
The Wanderers and United game should be very close, both teams have a very strong defensive line. The end score may depend on whether Kendell and Hayley can break through United's defense before new United signing Keisha gets the ball in the back of the net.
City should be confident and ready for round one after their win in the carnival. Villa may be reliant on their under 14s again this season but will be helped with the experience Mel and Monique have from State teams.
After both teams being in the final four last season, the Palace and Portland game could be a close one. Palace will be glad to have Macca back after being short on senior players in the carnival.

FROM THE DUGOUT WITH ERIN IRELAND
PINK RIBBON PRE-SEASON CARNIVAL
The SEWFA pre-season carnival was held on Saturday the 24th of April on a wet and windy day. As it always is, the carnival was a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Under 14s Final:
Considering Wanderers didn’t have a full team it was a very close game. Jasmine White played a great game with fast runs up the wing, resulting in a couple of goals for wanderers. When Villa ran for goal Monique Sims was quick to clear the ball out of their half. Two-nil down in the second half Villa got a penalty from a hand ball in the box. Monique Iannella scored the penalty for Villa but the team was unable to get another goal before the final whistle.
Score:
Wanderers- 2 (Jasmine White)
Villa- 1 (Monique Iannella)
Seniors Final:
The seniors final was a close match between City and Millicent. Both teams had some new players and it showed how hard they had all trained in pre season. The game was very close with both teams struggling to get the ball in the back of the net. City and Millicent were undefeated in their groups but City won the day with a goal from Jen Smith in the second half.
Score:
City: 1 (Jen Smith)
Millicent: 0
