The second round of finals began yesterday with Palace and Villa playing off for a Grand Final position. It was a very close game with palace getting an early goal then another 3 throughout the second half. The finals score was Palace 4 - Villa 0. Goal scorers for Palace were Shanae Mcarthy and Imogen Pratt, both bagging 2 goals each! That means unfortunatley Villa is out and Palace go through to the Grand final where they meet Wanderers next Saturday.

The final round for the season got underway this Saturday, in some lovely weather! The first game was played between City and Millicent, the final score was City 3 - Millicent 1. Goal scorers forr City were Jess Stephenson with an amazing 3 goals!! Goal scorers for Millicent were A cooper! The next Game was Played between Palace and Wanderers, the end result was Wanderers 2 - Palace nil! Goal scorers for Wanderers were M Ianella and M Sims! The final game for the day was played between Villa and County, the final score was Villa 4 - County 0. Goal scorers for Villa were J Wood with 2 goals, J Donaldson and N Koczak!

Goal scorers for Wanderers were J White and M Ianella with 3 goals each. The next game was played in Millicent between County and Millicent. The end result was County 1 - Millicent 0. Goal scorers for County were T Cella. The final game for the day was played between Palace and City. It was a very close game but palace came out on top with a 2 - 0 win. Goal scorers for city were Kate Kourmouzis 3, Jamie Van Dijk 2, Jess Stephenson 2, S lock and B Roberts. The next game was played between Villa and County, the end result was Villa 10 - County 0. Goal scorers for Villa were Monique Ianella 4, Natalie Koczak 4, Jasinda Wood 2, Jenae Donaldson, M Wilmot and a County Own Goal. The final game of the day was played between Palace and Wanderers, the final score was Wnderers 5 - Palace 0. Goal scorers for Wanderers were Monique Sims 2, Jasmine White 2 and Kate Lehman with 1. Round 3 got under way for sewfa U/14s this Saturday, with the first game being played between City and County.

The final score was City 3 - County 0. Goal scorers for City were Emily Birch, Meg Walters and S Lock.

The next game was played between Villa and Palace, Villa winning 1 - 0 with a penalty kick scored by Monique Ianella. This week Wanderes travelled to Millicent to play Millicent.

The final score was 8* (mercy rule) - 0.

Goal scorers for wanderers were Jasmine White 6, Kate Lehman 5, Monique Sims 2 and P Ackland 1.

The weather was superb for soccer this week and we hope next week is fairly similar.

This Saturday, the 8th of May, all 6 sewfa under/14 teams played in another exciting round. The 1st game being played between feirce competitors, Wanderers and City, the end result Wanderers 4 - City 2 Goal scorers for Wanderers were Monique Sims, Kate Lehman with 2 goals and yet another goal from Jasmine White. City's 2 goals came from star forward Jess Stephenson. The next game was played between Villa and Millicent, Villa takeing the game 4 - 0. Goal scorers for Villa were Mel Wilmot with 2 goals, Sam Freeman and Isabelle. Unfortunately Millicent had to forfeit the game. The last game was played between County and Palace, the final result Palace 3 - County 0. Goal scorers for Palace were Ashlae Pilven, Shanay Mcarthy and Imogen Pratt. SEWFA would also like to wish their president, Nigel Ingles, a very Happy 50th Birthday.

Today, Saturday 1st May, Round 1 got under way with the first match being played between Wanderers and Villa. The final score was Wanderers 1 - Villa 0 ; a cracker shot coming from Wanderer's forward Jasmine White. The 2nd game today was played between City and a 7 man Palace team, the end result City 4- Palace 0. A hatrick coming from Jess Stephenson and a palace own goal giving City a fantastic start to the season. Also today SEWFA welcomes Millicent u/14s to our league. Millicent played County. The game was played in Millicent but ended in a forfeit.

PINK RIBBON PRE-SEASON CARNIVAL

On Saturday the 24th of April, eight clubs gathered at Blue lake Sports Park to participate in the 2010 SEWFA Pink Ribbon Pre-Season Carnival.

The day started off early with the first under 14 game kicking off at 8.00am. Two finals were played at the end of the day.

In the senior final city defeated millicent 1-0, their goal coming of the post from a cross from Jen Smith.

In the under 14 final Wanderers defeated Villa 2-1, with both wanderers goals came from Jasmine White and Villia's came from a penalty shot by Monique Ianella.

I'm sure all participants enjoyed the day and are looking forward to round one next week.
