REDS TO ADD EXCITEMENT TO STATE CHAMPS IN MOUNT GAMBIER
Adelaide United FC stars Eugene Galekovic, Scott Jamieson and talented young defender Michael Marrone will make a special appearance at the State Championships in Mount Gambier on June 6 and 7, 2009.
United is delighted to confirm that the trio will be at Blue Lake Sport Park for the junior competition, which will be held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
The club’s trip to South Australia’s largest regional centre comes after The Reds hosted a Pre-Season Cup match at Mount Gambier’s Vansittart Park last year, the match receiving a fantastic response from the Mount Gambier community.
“The people of Mount Gambier were extremely friendly and welcoming when we were there last year, and I’m looking forward to getting down there again to help support and promote junior football in South Australia,” Jamieson said.
Galekovic, Jamieson and Marrone will be at Blue Lake Sports Park from 11.30am until 3.30pm on Saturday and between 10am and 1pm on Sunday. Participants and their families will get the opportunity to meet and greet the players, while there will also be Adelaide United giveaways plus autograph and photo opportunities.
The State Championships are for Under 13 and Under 16 girls plus Under 11-16 boys, the competition to be hosted by the Western Border Soccer Association.
The travelling party are scheduled to arrive at 9.55am on Saturday 6 June 2009 before returning to Adelaide the following night.
