Dedication pays off for Monique

A donation of $400 from the City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund was made recently to the South East Women's Football Association (SEWFA) to assist Monique Iannella with her sports development.
Monique was selected to join the Under 14 Girls State Development Squad which travelled to Canberra recently to attend the Football Federation of Australia National Junior Championships. The squad acquitted themselves well, finishing equal third.
Life isn't easy for a young woman soccer player.
Monique plays in three competitions. On Saturday she plays for Villa in the SEWFA Under 14s and the SEWFA Seniors, and on Sunday Monique plays for International in the Western Border Soccer Association Under 14s, a competition which is open to boys and girls.
It doesn't stop there, though. Each Friday, Monique travels to Adelaide to continue training with the Under 14 Girls State Development Squad. What little there is left of her time, Monique squeezes in her study and social life.
Monique's dedication to her sport is paying off. Monique indeed has a bright future ahead of her in the world of woman's football.
