The central aim of the Telstra T-Tots is to encourage children to develop basic football skills by practicing & learning with an age specific curriculum. This encourages children to develop close ball control, better first touch & greater confidence on the ball.
The sessions encourage fun whilst in a structured environment to ensure the full participation of all children.
Everything that we do is about laying the right foundation to develop young Children to play the game the right way.
The Round Ball Coomunity Football Development Program will be co-ordinating the T-Tots program and Director of Coaching Scott Dickson is delighted to be working with such young children. The Round Ball is based in Mount Gambier and has been very succesful in supporting the development of older players and Dickson is keen to extend the skills of younger players. "We have worked with younger children on several occasions over the past few years with our futsal program and the Active After School Community program. This is different though, we are keen to look at this project as an educational and social opportunity to work with younger children and to introduce them and their families to soccer. our involvement in the AASC program and the Playing for Life philosophy is what junior sport should be about, participation and fun. We have planned for a 1 to 6 ratio for coaching purposes and that is sure to bring about some great outcomes."
T-Tots ensures that all children have fun in our sessions but know that every session must also be a development process in advancing a child progress with their football skills.
All Sessions are run for 45 Minutes
Programs run for 6 weeks during the school Term
Sessions are run Saturday mornings at Grant High School.
Limited numbers are available for each session
The sessions will provide young children with fun coaching to improve their balance, agility, co-ordination and confidence. The children will learn by discovery and each session allows playtime to enable parents to play with child if they wish.
TRB staff have been selected due to their experience with working with this age group with a 1: 6 ratio allowing maximum fun and development for every child.
TRB Director Scott Dickson explains:
"The Round Ball has been providing activities for children from 10 - 23 years for over 4 years and now due to the demand we have designed a specific programme that will cater for our youngest fans and players".
The course will commence on Saturday October 30 with the under 6 group starting at 9am.
