In Round 7 of the Dycer Construction Premiership, the Sharks face Millicent United which was played at Shark Park.
The last time these two teams met, was Round 2 of the Belgiorno Cup where Sharks just won the game 3-2.
The Sharks were determined to keep their winning streak going, as they were sitting in equal 2nd place with Apollo, both 2 pts behind Inter on the Premiership table.
The weather conditions were again terrible, with heavy down pour being very constant throughout the whole day, and the pitch becoming very muddy in places, and almost unplayable.

The game summary as follows:
(10mins) Weistra finds some room in the goal area, and cleverly walks the ball over the goal line after beating the Millicent defence. Score 1-0
(15min) Weistra again dribbles theball into the goal area, but is foulded. Kennett takes the penalty and blast it straight past the keeper. Score 2-0
(22min) Kasole receives a through ball, and cleverly side foots the ball past the keeper’s right, strikes the post and goes in. Score 3-0
(25 min) Leary makes a back pass to keeper Fuller, however the ball stops in the mud outside of the box, which allows #6 Millicent to shoot past the Fuller for United’s first goal. Score 3-1.
(27min) Kennett receives the ball, from the top of the box, blasts the ball past the keeper for another goal. Score 4-1
(38min) C.Pilven crosses the ball to Kasole, he shoots the goal keeper fumbles the ball, but Weistra was there to clean up the spill. Score 5-1
Sharks defence of Wright, Szpakowski, Leary and Gordon, proved too strong for the Millicent forwards, denying Millicent much of the ball in the first half.
Sharks midfield, of Kennett, Gordon, Weistra , B.Pilven & Widdison, were displaying very good movement of the ball, even though the conditions were terrible.
Half Time
Coach Bruttomesso was very satisfied that his players were enjoying themselves, and still being able to play some good football, even though the pitch was deteriorating very rapidly.
In the second half, Millicent were putting a lot of pressure on the Sharks, and broke away several times, with Cameron Saint making his normal expolsive runs, however Fuller was on the ball every time.
Credit to the Millicent Keeper, who made some very good saves when he needed to , keeping the game still in reach for United.
(75min) Sharks first change saw U17 Youngster Dylan Kennett making his debut in the A Grade team , when Coach Bruttomesso substituted Brad Pilven.
(85min) C.Pilven was substituted for Colin Mackenzie.
The second half saw many chances for the Sharks go begging, as the conditions made it very difficult to finish off.
(88min) Kennett scores the goal of the day, when he blasted a half volley from the top of 18 box, giving the keeper no chance at all to save. Score 6-1
(91min) It was the Sharks captain Kennett who again found room dribbling past defenders, and blasting the ball past the keeper low and on his left foot. Score 7-1.
Final Score 7-1.
The Sharks finish the first half of the Premier Rounds with 5 wins, 1 draw 1 loss total of 16 pts, equal second with Apollo..
(Inter & Naracoorte’s game was abandoned, and will be rescheduled to play at a later date.)
Next week the Sharks face the reining Premiers Apollo in the first Semi Final of the Belgiorno Cup, which will be played at Malseed Park.
Sharks recently defeated Apollo 3-2, and will be looking to repeat that feat, to earn themselves a spot in the Final the following week.
