GAMBIER CENTRALS MEDIA RELEASE

Gambier Centrals Soccer Club is delighted to announce that club stalwart Adrian Koop has taken over the reigns as Soccer Club President for the 2011 season. Koop takes up the position after long standing President Shane Dycer stood down at the end of the 2010 season.
“ Shane has done a fantastic job over the past nine years and there is no doubt that we would not be in the position we are at the moment without his valuable contribution” said Koop.
“It is going to be hard to replace Shane, he has been involved in so many positive ventures for the club for nearly a decade, however, I am very keen to begin this new era in a positive manner and we, as a committee are keen to see the club improve both on and off the pitch” Koop added. The first progressive step on the pitch is the establishment of a Football Operations Department.
“We will advertise for a Director of Football over the next fortnight who will aid in the appointment of coaches for 2011 and beyond. This role is new, both to the club and to region and we see it as a very positive step in the right direction”

‘Once the successful applicant is in place we will advertise for coaches for all grades and start restructuring our coaching program to better extend our players at all levels.”

Koop is a Life Member at Gambier Centrals and believes that he has the right credentials to return Centrals to the top.

“For over a decade Centrals has enjoyed wonderful success both on and off the park. We have won three A Grade premierships, been successful in B Grade and won a massive amount of silverware in the juniors add to the that the successful track record we have in developing juniors of the highest quality, there is no doubt that we have a lot to offer. Thomas Rienzi is playing Super League in Adelaide, Cameron Hart won promotion last year with North Geelong, Jose Estevez did well on Football Superstar, our junior development has been successful our challenge is to return to the top of the table in A Grade and win that title" Koop said with a smile.
