Special Olympics South Australia has recently began a region on the Limestone coast. One of the first sports to get up and running (due demand) was a soccer team. We were fortunate enough to have Cameron Craig volunteer and take hour long training sessions for a group of about 10 children with an Intellectual Disability at Tenison Woods College. His enthusiasm was outstanding, and he has done wonders with these children and taught them to love the game. However, Cameron has recently been transferred to Adelaide in an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. Great news for him!....but leave us without a coach.
We are seeking one volunteer to run these training sessions. There are no games to attend but later in the year we (along with FFSA) hope to bring a couple of our Adelaide teams down and a few from Melbourne to form a carnival. The coach does, not have to be an experienced coach (like Cameron), we would be thrilled with a couple of experienced players (perhaps looking for volunteer work) that would be dedicated to one hour a week until the end of the season. Most parents stay out at training to lend a hand also. They’re an amazing bunch of kids, that just want the opportunity to play soccer like their peers. If you know of anyone that would be willing to volunteer their time, please get in contact with me ASAP. Thanks so much for your time.
Cheers, Nicolle
