The Game of the Round this week pits Belgiornos Cup winner, Apollo Soccer Club, against Gambier Centrals.
Last time they met in the premiership it finished a 1 all draw, this time around Apollo are flying after two impressive performances against The Sharks and International in the cup. Derek ferguson could not be happier with his squad and it is the size and strength all over the park that is the difference between the boys form Webb St and the rest at this stage.
Centrals on the other hand have relied on the quality of their juniors and once again they will provide the light at the end of the tunnel this week. Alex Sims, Alex Bissel, Matt Pilven and in recent weeks Mark Judd have provided a real spark to a very short playing list.
Apollo will not miss the impressive David Cole and should remain at the top of the Dycer Constructions Premiership ladder Sunday night.
In other games Portland should beat Naracoorte at home, Inter will beat Millicent and despite losing three quality players in a week Okezie Nzeakor, Brad Pilven and Andrjez Szpakowski, The Sharks should beat Blue Lake.
The Round Ball Junior Game of the week is the under 17 fixture between Apollo and Gambier Centrals. Apollo are sitting top of the table and took out the Belgiornos Cup last week. Centrals are currently sitting third on the ladder with a point to prove. A win for Apollo will see them heading towards a winner takes all clash against International. If Centrals take the points the premiership race will open up. We think it will be a draw.
