• Students in five Australian states take part in ‘World’s Biggest Lesson’ record
attempt, part of global launch and world-record breaking lesson for 15 million
children worldwide.
• The 1GOAL campaign is supported by FIFA and the World Cup to leave a lasting
legacy: getting every child into school.
MELBOURNE, 19 April 2010 – The ‘1GOAL – Education for All’ campaign, part of the FIFA
World Cup, will be launched globally Tuesday with football legend John Aloisi taking part
along with Australian students participating in a ‘Lesson for All’ world record attempt. A press
conference will take place at Essendon Keilor College in Melbourne on Tuesday morning.
The event, from 9:30 a.m. will be part of a global effort of 15 million children in over 100
countries who will sit down and take the lesson in support of the 1GOAL campaign that aims
to get all children into school. The 1GOAL campaign is backed by some of the world’s biggest
names in sport including Tim Cahill, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Catherine Freeman
as well as actors Jessica Alba and Anthony La Paglia
